My name is Jason and I’m a 21 year old student at Campbell University. In the fall of 2008, I will start working on a Master of Divinity degree with a concentration in Urban and Social Ministry. I grew up on a family farm in rural North Carolina. This summer I will be working with the Center for Student Missions in Toronto, Ontario. I continue to explore my personal calling into ministry, social justice advocacy, and reconciling love. In this blog will be expressed my reflections on society, calling, ministry, and Church.
The Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi serves as a living litany for my life and work.
“Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
Amen.”
